Summer vacation is coming to an end.. rather too quickly. Even though its' almost over, doesn't mean we sit around and do nothing. Ontario has so many lovely places to visit, and you can do them all before summer is over.
Dundas Peak
Located just outside of Hamilton, Dundas Peak is amazing hike. You can plan to spend about half a day here, just to make sure you see everything, so bring water and snacks. Once you make it to the top, you can experience some breath-taking views that this province has to offer. If you are a fan of changing leaves, save this trip for the fall and be prepared to be even more amazed by the views.
St. Jacobs
Just north of Waterloo, St. Jacobs offers a very unique experience for anyone who visits. You'll feel like you've travelled back in time with the strong Mennonite presence in St. Jacobs. The market is one thing St. Jacobs super well known for, and after you've shopped around you can take a tour on a horse-drawn trolley.
Niagara-on-the-lake
Also known as wine county, if wineries and breweries are your thing, this is the best place to go. There are also many beautiful trails to walk along, and you can catch some breath-taking views from the lake. The downtown strip of Niagara-on-the-lake is also a perfectly "instagrammable" area for photos.
Collingwood
Collingwood is a little bit longer of a trip, but definitely worth it. While Collingwood is well known for skiing/snowboarding in the winter at Blue Mountain, there are plenty of summertime activities there as well. From ziplining, to mountain biking, hiking and horseback riding, there is something for everyones interests. The golf courses are also very popular in Collingwood. If relaxing is more your style, there are tons of amazing spas throughout the area, like the Scandinave spa.
Prince Edward County
Another longer trip, Prince Edward County is home to many things. You can get a taste of adventure and relaxation here. There are many beautiful trails to hike along here, or you can relax at the beach at Sandbanks Provincial Park. There are also plenty of wineries to visit in Prince Edward County. If you're planning on making a weekend out of it, the June Motel is a lovely place to stay, and embraces all the beauty of Prince Edward County.
The Grotto
The Grotto is just east of Tobermory, in Bruce Peninsula National Park. After hiking through the trails, you end up at the water with some breath-taking views. With the water so blue, you would forget that you're in Ontario. And for the more adventurous ones, you can climb along the rocks and explore the caves.
