Honda Indy Toronto 2019

The Honda Indy is a 3 day racing festival that happens in Toronto every July. The city blocks off parts of Lakeshore blvd to create a road course for the drivers. The event has several difference types of races, such as the Porsche GT3 Cup, IndyCar Series, Indy Pro 2000, USF2000, Nascar Pinty's

Series, and for a little extra fun, the Stadium Super Trucks. Honda Indy was held last weekend, July 9-11 on the streets of Toronto.

There's tons around the festival to do for the whole family. The kids can go on a pony ride, or even more exciting, they can drive around on mini Honda dirt bikes, while in full racing gear. You can even line up to get an autograph from your favourite driver.

While general admission is the cheapest option for entrance into the festival, the Grandstands and Paddock admissions are the best option. With Grandstand, you'll be sitting up higher, above the safety fencing to be able to see the Indy cars racing by much better than general admission. Paddock admission gets you into areas where the driver's team works on the indy cars, as well as the pit, but going this route you are still required to purchase admission at the gate.

Although the drivers are always competing against one another, there is still a sense of family among them, as they are all doing what they love, racing. It's really fantastic seeing all the hard work the drivers and their team put in to be able to race in the Indy series.

So if you're planning on going to the Indy next year, don't forget to bring your sunscreen, earplugs, and wear a hat! It's a long day in the sun, especially if you're there all 3 days! And the best choice is to spare the pain of trying to find parking, and just take public transit instead.
